'Victorian High-Wheelers' is the story of the Christchurch Bicycle Club 1876-1884, carefully researched and told by Roger Street in six chapters.
It was published in 1979 and has 60 pages. The black & white ilustrations includes ones of the club, its clubhouse and club badge. There are also chapters on Ernest Clarke, the club's captain, who had a cycle shop in the High Street, and other related Christchurch cycling topics of the day. Appendices include a facsimile reproduction of club member J.W. White's nationally known song 'Bicycle Riding'.
